6. PKF China Talk – Work and residence permits: employment of Chinese professional and managerial staff in Germany

Since autumn 2017 PKF Fasselt holds the event series “PKF China-Talk“. About 35 representatives of Chinese companies participated at the 6th PKF China Talk on 9 April 2019 on the topic “Work and residence permits: employment of Chinese professional and managerial staff in Germany”.

Thomas Schifferdecker, expert in the field of Global Mobility Management, gave a lecture and explained different types of working titles and residence permits along with the related regulations for self-employment and paid employment in Germany. To complement these, Kai Yu - project manager at Duisburg’s economic development agency (GFW), gave the audience advice on the structure of a business plan and highlighted the key issues for Chinese companies and investors.

The requirements for gainful employment as well as the process of starting a business represent a challenge for many Chinese companies investing in Germany. To ensure a successful cooperation, it is therefore essential to have local experts who are familiar with the requirements of the German market.
