International PKF China Forum in Duisburg

The first International PKF China Forum took place in the office building of PKF Fasselt in Duisburg. Representatives of 13 PKF firms from 9 different countries discussed the requirements and expectations of Chinese companies and investors for auditing and consulting firms in the respective country.
Following the official inauguration by PKF International CEO John Sim and Duisburg’s mayor Sören Link, representatives of Chinese PKF firms gave an overview of China’s economic and political situation.The speeches focussed on China’s economic strategy of the New Silk Road and Chinese overseas investments.
In following presentations, the individual PKF firms introduced their offers to Chinese investors and reported on their experience with Chinese clients. Subsequently, the participants discussed their approaches for the acquisition of Chinese clients and the requirements for successful cooperation with them. The importance of intercultural competence and Chinese language skills was stressed repeatedly in the discussion. Proposals for closer cooperation with the international network partners, especially with Chinese PKF firms, were welcomed by all participants.
